Mein Leben
1969 in Mödling bei Wien geboren, spielte ich schon im ersten
Lebensjahr mit meiner Babyrassel in lokalen Salsa-Bands. Als
Multiinstrumentalist nahm ich bald Xylophon und Melodika zur Hand, um meine
ganze emotionale Bandbreite optimal ausdrücken zu können. Auf der
Blödflocke feierte ich schnell straßenweit Erfolge, erste
Tourneen durch alle einschlägigen Sandkästen folgten, und schon
bald wurde klar, dass die Musik auf mich verzichten kann, aber ich nicht auf
sie.
Mit 15 lernte ich Saxophon, weil es das coolste Instrument ist. Ich habe nie
Musik studiert, deswegen muss ich leider immer noch üben. Lehrer, die
mich beeinflusst haben, waren und sind Günther Klatt, Claus Koch und
George Garzone.
Mit 17 durfte ich meine erste und letzte Schallplatte aufnehmen: Nach der
Produktion der Band Mardi Gras gab's nur noch CDs.
Seitdem jagt ein Erfolg den anderen, auf jeden Fall, wenn man es als Erfolg
verbucht, falls man sich mal nicht verspielt. Ich spiele Konzerte,
Hochzeiten und Todesfälle, und merke immer mehr, dass der Ausgang
meiner Musik die pure Lust am Spielen und Kommunizieren ist.
Selbstverständlich spielte ich, wie alle anderen namhaften Musiker, mit
allen anderen namhaften Musikern.
Meine CDs kann man in jedem Land dieser Erde hören, wenn man sie
dorthin mitnimmt.
Und wenn ich nicht spiele, bereite ich mich darauf vor, der älteste Olympiateilnehmer im Karate zu werden.
Ich trainiere derzeit für den blauen Gürtel, es könnte also noch etwas dauern.
Außerdem koche ich, backe Brot, geh Radeln oder Motorradfahren oder
Saunen, lese viel, verziehe meine Töchter, löse das Kreuz mit den
Worten von CUS (RIP), rauche fette Zigarren und trinke rauchige Whisky
und bin für jeden Blödsinn zu haben.

Seit Jahren nehme ich mir an Sylvester vor, etwas öfter in den
Biergarten zu gehen, und seit Jahren schaffe ich das auch.
My life
Born in Mödling near Vienna in 1969, I played my baby rattle in local salsa bands
when I was just a year old.
As a multi-instrumentalist, I soon picked up the xylophone and melodica in order to
be able to optimally express my entire emotional range. On the recorder I quickly
celebrated street-wide success, the first tours through all the relevant sandpits
followed, and it soon became clear that while music might be able to live without
me, I can't live without music.
I began the saxophone when I was 15 because it's the coolest instrument. I never
studied music, so unfortunately I still have to practice. Teachers who have
influenced me include Günther Klatt, Claus Koch and George Garzone.
When I was 17 I made my first and last vinyl record: after the production of the band
Mardi Gras, there were only CDs.
Since then, one success has been chasing the other, particularly if you define
success as not playing wrong. I play concerts, at weddings and at funerals, and I
realize more and more that I am a musician for the pure joy of playing and
communicating.
Of course, like all other well-known musicians, I have played with all other well-
known musicians.

When I'm not playing the saxophone, I'm preparing to become the oldest Olympian in
karate. I'm currently working on my blue belt so it might take a while.
I also cook, bake bread, go cycling, motorcycling and to the sauna, read a lot,
spoil my daughters, solve cryptic crosswords, smoke fat cigars, drink smoky whiskey
and I'm up for all kinds of nonsense.
For years, my New Year's resolution has been to go to the beer garden a little more
often, and I am proud of how I have stuck to this.
